Description

Venosmil is a venotonic medication: it increases the tone of the veins and the resistance of the capillaries (small blood vessels).

Venosmil is indicated, in adults, for the relief of symptoms related to mild venous insufficiency of the lower extremities, such as pain, sensation of heaviness, tightness, tingling and itching in legs with varicose veins or swollen legs.

The active element is hydrosmine, whose chemical properties allow it to be classified as flavonoids. It is a standard mixture containing the components of 5,3’mono-O-(β-hydroxyethyl)-diosmin, as well as 5,3′-di-O-(β-hydroxyethyl)-diosmin.

The medicinal effect of hydrosmol has not been fully studied yet, but the presence of an interrelationship with the decrease in the degradation of catecholamines can be observed, mainly due to the inhibition of catechol-O-methyltransferase activity.

While it has not yet been possible to determine the therapeutic effect of drugs, it is still possible to identify the four basic properties provided by hydrosmin:

-Strengthen the strength of the walls of capillaries, the permeability of which can be caused by the action of bradykinin with histamine. In addition, the substance prevents capillary fragility, which can develop with an incorrect nutritional regimen.

-Improving the hemorrheological parameters of erythrocytes, reducing blood viscosity and increasing the ability of erythrocytes to deform.

-Influence regarding venomotor tone and gradual stimulation of permanent contractions of smooth-type muscles in the region of the venous wall.

-Creation of optimal conditions to improve lymphoid circulation processes. Hydrosmin causes an expansion of the lymphatic ducts and, together with it, increases the speed of their movement, which improves lymphatic drainage.
